An amazing dining experience not to be missed in Doncaster
After a year of restorations, Doncaster stately home Rossington Hall, on Great North Road, is opening its doors on 30th June with a fine dining experience not to be missed.
Served in the glorious oak panelled library with views over the wonderful gardens (shown above), Rossington Hall’s new 3 AA Rosette chef, John Lyons, is set to delight diners with a fine dining menu fit for a king.
Having worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants around the UK, and also in France, and with some of the best know chefs, including James Martin, John is delighted to be bringing his innovative and exquisite menus to Doncaster. With a full ‘A la carte’ menu along with an intriguing 7 course taster menu, starters include fois gras, ‘smoking’ salmon and Orkney scallops, and main courses use the finest ingredients such as grain fed Kimberley red beef, Cornish John Dory and Round Green Farm venison. John’s food is set to offer sheer delight to even the most discerning of palates.
Tables can be booked from 6.30pm every Friday and Saturday evening, starting Saturday 30th June, and with light entertainment making the evening complete, it looks set to be the place to eat in Doncaster at the weekend. The menu for the opening night can be seen on Rossington Hall’s web site.
Rossington Hall is also opening for Sunday lunch on Sunday 1st July, and every week thereafter, from 12 noon to 3.00pm. Diners can enjoy a traditional 3 course Sunday lunch or lunch the ‘Rossington Hall’ way, with a full roast served for the whole table and carved at the table – all for £23.95 per person.
For those who prefer to while away Sunday with afternoon tea, that will also be served every Sunday from 1st July, 2.30pm – 5.00pm. An elegant full afternoon tea, served in Rossington Hall’s sumptuous state rooms, or in the conservatory or walled garden in warm weather. An absolutely delightful way to spend the afternoon at £16.95 a person. Again light entertainment will help diners relax at Sunday lunch and afternoon tea.
Owner, Gary Gee says “We have been restoring the hall and grounds for around a year now and Michelle and I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement we have received regarding the restorations so far. We are not finished yet of course, but having spent over £3.5 million so far, the first phase is just about complete and we are delighted to be able to open for dining. John is an excellent chef with some fabulous menus and innovative ideas. We are sure our guests will enjoy his exquisite food in such beautiful surroundings, and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support which will help us continue with the restoration of this beautiful and important grade II listed building.”
