Rossington Hall opening and wedding fayre sizzles!

Dukes Sweets at Rossington Hall Wedding FayreHundreds of brides and grooms to be and their parents and friends attended the opening and wedding fayre at a sun baked Rossington Hall on 27th May, on what was the hottest day of the year so far – and it wasn’t just the weather that was hot!

Rossington Hall’s newly restored state rooms, including the magnificent chandeliered ballroom absolutely sizzled with excitement as visitors saw (many for the first time) the amazing changes that have taken place since Doncaster couple, Gary and Michelle Gee, bought the 250 acre stately home and country estate last year.

The exhibitors represented the finest wedding suppliers that the region has to offer, and they certainly pulled out all the stops.  From high class bridal wear, mother of the bride, occasion wear, cakes, entertainment and photographers to unusual offerings such as a sword wielding toastmaster, fireworks, laser clay shooting and paintball activities, and everything in between  – every element needed to create an amazing wedding was available.

The exhibitors were as delighted as Gary and Michelle at the amount of people who shunned the garden sunbathing to come along and see what was on offer – although with Rossington Hall’s gardens now looking more beautiful than ever, many visitors took the opportunity to stroll round, and even do a bit of relaxing in the Italian sunken garden and walled garden.

Gary says “I am absolutely delighted with our first wedding fayre and can only thank everyone for coming along.  It was a real success for us and the exhibitors, and I was overwhelmed by the support and encouragement Michelle and I received on the day regarding the restorations we have carried out so far.  Of course we are far from finished, but, having spent over £3.5 million on the restoration up to press, the first phase is just about done and we are looking forward to hosting our first wedding in July.   We have opened our doors to many people in Doncaster recently, with a VIP reception and an open day, as well as the wedding fayre and the support has been amazing.  We will be holding another wedding fayre later in the year, and lots of other events in the meantime, so I do hope that everyone will continue to support us so that we can carry on with the restoration of this beautiful and important grade II listed building, and I sincerely thank them for doing so.”
